Presence IS non resistance to Infinity

One of the main indications of living from Spirit is if you are living from Presence Awareness each moment, clearly responding to each situation from spontaneity instead of the knee jerk reaction of the unexamined unconscious, being openended, instead of the lapsing into the default of your conditioned history and memory.  For Presence to be what and who you are, you have to reconcile duality or polarity and to transcend the potential conflict of duality as it seems to arise.

To stay on the edge of the tendency to get caught up in the seeming intensity of each experiential moment.  To not get caught up in one side of the polarity and be unconscious that you are living from that perspective, to live from knowingness and Being Awareness.

The openendedness necessary enough for Inner Space to be contacted needs to be consistent and not shut down because when True Inner Space is allowed, you are allowing VULNERABILITY to step in and there can be possible anxiety because the self image at the personality level is being shook probably harder than ever, but if you have little resistance you are allowing the Freedom of Space to start showing the way past the contractedness that is running your life.

The contraction of the self image that reflects itself outward is the personality which is how people seem to show themselves as a self representation that they tend to live through in their daily lives.  Unless this representation is questioned as the person’s ID, the person will probably never go beyond it because they believe it is them, they are so close to it as themselves and it seems to be a constant.

As long as we are of the mind set of separation from existence and are not flowing with the Presence as our Nature we will continue to live from the past and imaging the future as our way of referencing existence and may never open our Hearts to our Eternal Divine NOW Nature that is our Truth.

As the contraction of the ego/mind is gradually relaxed and seen through with its falsehoods to the core of Truth, the Presence of Existence in its Pristine Innocence becomes increasingly apparent and we see we have been obscuring this Presence in our selves with our own activity as distraction from Reality.

As this Clarity becomes the eyes of our Heart, we can no longer hold any concept, thought, or image above the Direct Seeing of Reality as Reality.  There are no other images before Reality obstructing the State of Reality, inclusive of who you thought you were that has NOW been absorbed into the Presence which is NOW non resistance to INFINITY.

Presence IS and it is the greater MIRROR of REALITY than one’s narcisstic reflection based in the entrapment in the mind/body and believing that one’s habitual life and thoughts and philosophical perspectives are the true reflection of EXISTENCE as IT IS.  The ease of Reality as it is, exposes all agendas to avoid it by trying to label, define and relegate Truth to a convenient box of the mind’s intellectual wording.  Being the transparency through which all IS experienced, undermines and dissolves anything that enters the Reality of REAL.

Divine Intelligence shines as it is only itself with no definitions, descriptions and no need for ANYTHING, it is the Source that supports and yet flows through ALL as ITSELF as Pure Awareness.

Thank you, Will Gable

IN LOVING MEMORY OF MASTER KARL E. GEIS

http://www.blogtalkradio.com/edgeoftruth/2014/04/27/celebration-of-aikido-in-memory-of-sensei-karl-geis

We are celebrating the life and immense contribution to Martial Artists around the world of Master Karl Edwin Geis whose life was a major elevation of what the Martial Arts are in an evolutionary sense as well as the establishment of a world wide Spiritual Community of practitioners which he created and named the Fugakukai International Aikido Association.

Master Geis was a 10th Dan in Kihara Aikido, 10th Dan in Kodokan Judo, and 8th Dan in Shindo Muso Ryu Jodo.  The history of the FIAA can be found on karlgeis.com.

Sharon and I were in Houston for his service and to celebrate with all students past and present, we were also joined on our show the Edge of Truth by Doug Martin who spent some of the last days at the hospital with Sensei Geis and we all expressed some of our lessons and what he contributed to our lives.

Please listen to the above link we recorded in Houston, Will Gable

HIKARI AIKIDO DOJO CONTACT

We invite you to practice The Art of Aikido with us on M-W from 6:30-8:30 and Saturday 11:30AM to 1:30 we are located in North Park Mall at 122nd and N. May in the south end of the mall at the Obvious Group Training Center, Contact numbers are:  495-8128  and 921-6457,   Sincerely, Will Gable

Spontaneous living come from freeing ourselves from the mechanical conditions of existence, PRINCIPLE TRANSCENDS EGO.  Will Gable @2003

“We can finally find our home in the Heart of Aikido and relax truly into the path of least resistance where we can openly allow the essence to smooth out our concepts about anything and awaken to the Presence of Love as our True originator.  Will Gable @2005

“So the information and consciousness that is being gleaned is transmitted via our kinesthetic sharing in which we are communicating on a multi-channel processing dialogue which is felt in the silent levels of intuitive guidance.”  Will Gable @ 2006

“Letting go of our possible addiction to have an “image” in the mind to think we are alive frees us from the reductionist viewpoint of linear consensus reality which allows us to start seeing through the eclipse of beliefs, conditioning, concepts that have shadowed our life obstructing our original, inner Spiritual Light Source Nature inherently flowing from the Heart of IAM.  Will Gable @2010

“If we live as if the NOW is between the past and the future, we are still living in and on linear consensus reality and think because we are being mindful we have awakened to the transcendent and vertical NOW.  Mindfulness is being aware of what possibly is in front of us, being awakened to the Prescence serves just that function.  Will Gable @2010

“As one awakens into the unknown, insight becomes ones mode of relationship and the mind may be held in abeyance only as a useful tool of consciousness as one transcends “what is not” in the each moment and is living from “what is”, as consciousness/awareness which is existence freedom from the primal conceptual mind set.  Will Gable @2010

Our True Nature is “embodied spirituality”.  We have transcended our ego/mind so as to awaken to the Freedom of living  as the Spirit Self which has always lived as the Essential Nature of the body/mind,  but the myopic fragments of emotional/mental distortions became distractions and created a barrier of duality between consciousness and the Truth of the Light of our Infinite Nature.

The practice of Principle starts to take us away from our ego/mind structure where again, Principle transcends Ego, and we find ourselves entering a dimension of effortless solutions to some of our “predetermined assumptions” about how things are, especially when one has never been moved around with not even a fingers insertion.  Once we start to feel through our center consistently we begin to let go of trying to make things happen and see the magic that is present once we access the SILENCE STILLNESS within from our letting go of our structuring of the world whirl.

The freedom of Being is transcendent and the survival agendas of the eggo/mind are not designed to understand that dimension, they are only to serve the biological that nature designed to further it’s existence.  If we are to move beyond this online modality that we inherited, we need to see it’s inherent structure and in accessing the NOW of SILENCE/STILLNESS, allow ourselves to step into the absence of presence where we can vacate what one thinks they are presently.   Sincerely, Will Gable

Our involvement with our Art of Aikido has as its Primary Principle, that Budo or the way of the Spiritual warrior is Love,  from our Founder, Moreihei Uyeshiba and all other Principles follow this profound realization from his enlightenment.  That we are to Unify ourselves Spiritually and forge our Lives with a commitment to “awakening”,  through disciplining our waywardness in the world to the Principles of the Universe and live our lives as examples of Free, Open, and Existential Truth and Light.  That we realize that the Universe is and has always been intrinsically living AS EXISTENCE  through the ISNESS that it is, ETERNALLY, UNDEFINED.

Once we awaken to the vertical  in consciousness/awareness of the NOW, we have a chance to step outside of this mortal shell, “death, where is thy victory?” We now have the awareness to have CLARITY, or standing free from “what is not” clear enough to see from the realm of non attachment truly.  Remember, the “home that is nowhere, that is the true place,” if you take the word nowhere and break it down to the root, it reveals itself as NOW HERE.  So, the true NOW is our true place or doorway to the INFINITE as our Source because INFINITE SOURCE is always HERE NOW, except that we may not have accessed contact because of the distortion of finite vibrational definitions and forms with which the mind tends to become attached and distracted.

This Flow Awareness of Spirit is not in any way trying to do anything to anyone, it is the Integral Harmonizing Aspect of our Existence that is our Source condition that we have repressed because the taking on of the physical by Consciousness did not in most lives not create fear in the sense of separation from Source.  So, we repressed Reality in its Pristine Oneness and started our dark journey through all the objects relations that seemed to dominate our minds and hearts and has left most on the linear plane of existence with no obvious exit and no interest in one. C@WG 2013

Someone said Peace can only be had from something that has been read, visualized, memorized, a discipline, but never simply realized.  Let us say Peace is like Space, most everyone never thinks about or realizes that they are only mobile because they are living in the Freedom of Space which seems to go on Infinitely at least visually.  If you can consider that you are literally floating in Space and you can let go into what seems the physical view of Space so that you see that non resistance in your Existence is the door way to Peace.

At the beginning of this essay, I stated that Peace comes from the complete resolution of your separateness.  So, we need to consider what that statement actually means individually.  If you can at this point replace Space with Peace, you can start to feel that Peace is Infinite and is already a Principle of this Existence and has always, already we will say been here, like a fish swimming in water and not even considering the natural condition of its existence.  C@ WG 2013

Real Center

In our practice of our Art of Aikido, we are always encouraging the practitioner to express their creativity or “takemusu aikido” in their practice from their center, the place that has traditionally been designated as a few inches below your navel and two or so inches inward or what is termed haragei in Japan.

During our last class I discussed with my students about this not being one’s Real Center, that we needed to know the difference between having what was the traditional perspective of a Center which at least for the Art of Aikido is a fundamental necessity for the practitioner to be able to understand and integrate the Principles and Katas from Kihara Aikido and our Real Center which is in the Spiritual dimension and is the true power that is the Flow Awareness of Spirit which is seen and experienced when the practitioner is moving  from the Zero Point of Harmony.

This Flow Awareness of Spirit is not in any way trying to do anything to anyone, it is the Integral Harmonizing Aspect of our Existence that is our Source condition that we have repressed because the taking on of the physical by Consciousness didn’t in most lives not create fear in the sense of separation from Source.

So, we repressed Reality in its Pristine Oneness and started our dark journey through all the objects relations that seemed to dominate our minds and hearts and has left most on the linear plane of existence with no obvious exit and no interest in one.

Sharon and I discussed this on our blogtalkradio show and when I listened to it, I wanted to share this with all of you and what we communicated together as she is a student in the class as well as the innovator of Self Gnosis, her method of realizing the Self, or our Higher Self.

Because we are mostly unconscious of our Nature, our tendency is to go outside to the external world of sources of information and tradition and this becomes the hook to source externals for any of your confirmations that seem to help you realize your connection as Spirit, but in most cases, never will.

Peace/Space

Spiritual Peace comes from complete resolution of your separateness. It is the Peace that is your Real Nature. From this Peace, you realize how you have been tortured your whole life by reinforcing your ego-mind’s relentless program. This program always  demands that your consciousness be limited to its agenda.

An aspect of Peace is Beingness. Since Beingness isn’t limited to anything, the limits you place on your subjective view of life defy your Peace. This break from limitlessness having ego imposed limits causes you to worry, have fears of not having enough or being good enough, etc.

Since Beingness isn’t limited to anything, it flies in the face of the limitations that we have placed on our subjective view of the objective, and is the possible start of one’s relaxing the walls and distortions that can lead to Peace which comes from seeing through our unconscious agendas with Clarity.  The Peace that passeth all understanding, the understanding of you, your life history, your creation of your mental interpretation of existence on the Original Face of IS.

Nature is the perfect expression of non resistance to Infinity.  It seems only humans have the ability to abstract their existence and so create an imaginary boundary of assumptions and beliefs they construct between them and Infinity.  So, in doing have created their own resistances and mental constructs that wall them off from the Peace they observe in Nature.

When we dive into a giant national pristine forest it seems to absorb what we think we are, we have just stepped into an infinite reservoir of Isness, All is as All IS, no resistance, we can only swim in Silence and be assimilated in the awe of Oneness.  “Nature is the only Perfection, because it knows no imperfection.”  @WG1979

We tend to think that because we physically exist here that we are the progenitors of defining what we are and what we are doing here.  We are literally immersed in the Peace of Infinity but we can’t see it because of our myopic tendency to want to live from the control panel of viewing Existence from our wanting to be secure, so we have to define and never get out of not trying to keep things the way we have been told they are.  So, in never questioning the solidity of our societal, historical conditioning we can never step outside of those unconscious, self imposed boundaries.

You have been distracted by the contraction upon the survival self and live from all the assumptions that your mind tends to be reveling in as reality.  This is your separateness that is a large part of why you are distracted from Peace, it likes the noise so it won’t have to face the Silence, you don’t even recognize the Space you are moving around in as an extension of Peace.

The Infinite condition of Peace is so intrinsic to us and underlies our
Existence and is flowing through All as Isness and yet we seem to want to
somehow mechanically create it instead of see that we only need to accept and allow our Real Condition to Self Reveal.  Sit quietly and notice all the distractions that aren’t apparent because our mind is so out of sync with the invisible Infinite that is our constant companion beating in the Stillness of our Spiritual Heart.
Peace is its expression when the duality of separation within the mind has fell into the Heart of Existence.  The end of resistance to “what is”, slowly absorbed each moment into the Unknown, known, that is our True Home,

DISTRACTIVE DUALITY

If you are living in the world of distractive duality as your primary reference to anything you relate to, you are most likely living from the ego/mind world of conditioning that has been discussed in the prior essays.  Looking at the world from the the front side of the two sided coin is what the world of conditioning looks like without any Awareness that you are Awareness.

If you never give any consideration to the conditioning that you have undergone over your time on the planet then you most likely live from that conditioned  view and never investigate the software that runs your operating system that seems to just be online.  The world of the objective, only what you sense, see and conceptualize as your existence is the out picturing of your programming.

This is fostered by the ego/mind and its myopic perspective of everything being black and white, high and low, light and dark and having to keep everything in tight control so that it has its veneer of duality innocently spread out there in the distant world of separation.  At its base this is what keeps it in control in its linear consensus reality view.

Seeing as most of humanity live from, assumes and passes on this model of reality, we remain the captive of this primal brain program that keeps us from our Divine Nature that is free from our mind/body identification in that “distance of everything has collapsed”, there is no objective world, or at least the mental framework that you see it through that you created to survive,  there is only one place and there is no separation there because there never was any separation, that is the game of the ego/mind/fear that the biological perpetuates as reality.

The understanding and transcendence of this mechanism is the only way we can awaken to its hypnotic trance to pierce the coin and allow the Unknown to absorb what is not, or the seeming mentally constructed world of the objective life.  Again, the conceptual framework has to collapse to even start to see with any Clarity what was created only to survive.  This takes great insight and courage to slowly go back the way you came for it is what most have based their lives on.

What needs to be seen is that you can’t go anywhere, there is no place to get lost, we can only return to our True Nature which is the Love that supports All, the ego/mind and its fear cannot understand the nature of Oneness so if it is strongly structured it will not open to this and it will not surrender to Not Knowing and will continue to struggle in the life stream instead of allowing non resistance to come to the fore front and breathe the breath of Flowing Freedom of effortless effort of I AM, non separation, your True Self.

Our study of the Art of Aikido is based in Principles that allow you from the beginning to directly experience non-resistance, non-conflict and non-harm, in experiencing these core Principles we start a process that will lead you to letting go of your struggle, these Principles transcend duality from the start of your practice.

They allow you to slowly inspect your own resistance and struggle with how your ego/mind “thinks” everything is.  The process slowly disarms the ego/mind and its struggle for control of everything and starts you on your journey of Trust, not only in the Principles, but a more core trust of yourself in relationship with others.

We need to open ourselves to Trust in order to see through what the ego/mind distrusts, this opens us to inherent Strength and Courage which may have been repressed because we, in the beginning,  were seemingly helpless and so we did the best we could in trying to survive the moment, and not sure in that sense what we were doing.

We have to have an initial doorway and these Principles offer us that opportunity to walk through slowly, open our minds and hearts and trust others to practice with us in an openness with our whole BEING to see the Oneness of Existence which before looked separate because the ego/mind was habituated in its practice of Distractive Duality modality.

Aikido Principles allow us to not get distracted by fear, since they are already in a place we cannot touch, we can only be guided by them and open ourselves to the trust that we experience in the consistency to step outside the supposed mental physical boundaries and discover the Presence that is our True Eternal Existence of Oneness.

Our opportunity to experience harmony, flow and oneness opens us to directly experience Love as our Intrinsic nature, not the love of another or something else, not two, Being Oneness.  The creation of one center of gravity even though it looks like there may be two allows one to be in the flow and experience directly the no separation of non-duality, no difference, only One.

Once you can experience this Oneness you will not want to practice Aikido at another level, the Wholeness you feel is what you want in all your life, it is as if you have realized that this Wholeness is the True Now, the doorway to your Original Face, that never was distracted by the unreal world of conceptual duality.

Sincerely, Will Gable

UNBOUNDED CONSCIOUSNESS

As we unfold in the process of death in each moment, not death of the bodily existence, but the death of the supposed limit that the body mind represents to our unbounded consciousness.  We must see that the body mind is only a representation of what and who we conceptualize ourselves to be.  The body mind  has emerged from the Unknown to the supposed world of the Known or the  manifest world of energy and its multi dimensional vibrational expression as Existence.

As mentioned in prior essays, one of the only ways we are to awaken to True Happiness is realize our Unboundedness of our Spiritual Consciousness or what might be called your True Nature, not your conceptualization of your Existence living from your ego/mind that is based in only your body/mind survival.

In the previous essay, Unification Principle, we saw that in order for us to let go and trust our True Nature we need to examine all the different conceptual images that we have mostly unconsciously created over the course of our life.  So, if we are to step into the death process discussed above, we have to see clearly what it is you have created from the point of view of “what is not” or your ego/mind creations that come in the form of obsessions, distractions and beliefs.

To be able to access our NOWPRESCENCE which is a word for our transcendent connection which will allow us to “Transcend and Include” what seems to be real in each moment and see it as only a passing energetic possibility in the form of a thought, emotion or feeling that before would have consumed our Consciousness/Awareness as if we are totally identified with whatever is arising in Unbounded Consciousness that tend to obscure Free Awareness.

We tend to string Existence along as a series of thoughts, emotions and feelings that seem to point towards a seamless expression as our mind/body personality and live from that assumed position as our self.  As long as we see it this way, we will never recognize that we live and die in each moment and each thought is a newly arising phenomena that is not necessarily associated with the last one.  They just seem to arise out of nothingness and we tend to attach our whole existence to them.

It is quite difficult for one to go from a world of seeming solidity and allow oneself to now let go into what seems to not exist, ” because it is not a FORM OR OBJECT,” the ego/mind is addicted to separation and compartmentalization of OBJECTS, whether they be things, people, thoughts, emotions and will not let go of its addiction to control everything.  And now one is being asked to trust in what cannot be touched or seen as an OBJECT, to trust in one’s Original Nature, nothing to do with an OBJECT,  just Pure Awareness.

Until one is able to Transcend the seeming world of OBJECTS, they will be entranced in the trance dance of the ego/brain/mind and its control agendas that keep the biological alive.  Awareness can be compared to,  and obviously this is a concept, to Space which is a word which we use to define the environmental condition of being able to move around without resistance.  If you remove a house from its foundation did that affect the space that was there all along?  It is the same thing with Awareness, which is already the Nature that permeates All and yet is not attached to any of the THINGS, OBJECTS, thoughts or emotions.

If we are to be FREE from the world of OBJECTS, we must awaken to the trance we are in that keeps us from REALIZING this very simple reality of AWARENESS as our Real Nature simply and purely instead of habitually defining everything either from ignorance and or fear of NOT KNOWING.  There is great FREEDOM in NOT having to KNOW EVERYTHING.  Look at the word, every thing or even knowledge as an OBJECT.

NOT KNOWING is our doorway to our True Nature, mental knowledge only can keep us in the abstraction of Existence and thus not Realizing Wholeness through UNBOUNDED CONSCIOUSNESS which transcends the mind’s need to know about everything.

Sincerely, Will Gable

Unification Principle

Our lives seem to be focused on the external world as if that is our true purpose. Once we start to see through ourselves transparently with CLARITY, as we saw in the previous essay, we see that we have been guided from the inside from the Unification Principle that is our Spiritual Essence. Our internal structure is based on Principle, and the Unification Principle is always bringing us back to our internal balance so we can transcend the “what is not” that seems to be the agenda and programming of the ego/mind.

The Unification Principle is always in place because if it wasn’t we would go sorely out of our mind, it always is in play in our lives, we don’t recognize it because we are too distracted with the play of the life field of the world of FORM that seems to be separate from what we have defined as ourselves.

If we are to awaken to our Spirit Self we will eventually have to bring ourselves into direct relationship with our “habitual familiarity” or our self image on numerous levels, self image, body image, personality, ego/mind, and transcend our attachments to each level so that what we thought we were in assumption and conditioning actually becomes objective to our true self, Presence to what is, or NOWPRESENCE.

Our ego/body/mind has to be seen as what we have created as a reaction to the Unknown that we seem to be facing as we attempt to take the next step in a world in which we are explorers with no real conscious rudder to move through the situations that we encounter.  So, we create from the standpoint of reaction and avoidance of reality because we eventually experience pain and want to avoid it with pleasure, this simple example, is a basis for building our reactive egoic personality which we assume is us.

We develop the personality to survive the best we can and yet we are avoiding the reality of what is.  We seem to move far away from what is because we don’t want to face it because from our conditioning we see that we can’t always control it which is the agenda of the ego/personality and it wants what it wants, there is no flow.  We won’t let reality into the situation even though it is the Source of the situation in an energy sense.  What we have created as ourselves is standing directly in the way of more open ended connection and Unification with our Source which is simply who and what we have always been.

So, in this Light we have been repressing Reality since we first started to “try and do something”, and especially when we didn’t want to experience displeasure.  In order for us to awaken to our Real Self we can’t keep doing the same things over and over again from the same conditioning or we will get the same results.  We need to see that activity as what started the whole separation mechanism within our Consciousness in the first place, so, what are we to do?

Understanding comes from seeing that you are in the way, you must understand the whole mechanism of your existence that you created or it will continue on the way it is.  Change will come if you stop trying to make things change, it is already ongoing, but the ego/mind cannot accept it because it wants things the way it wants it and if the person cannot see this, it can get a lot worse for the person.

Ego/mind does not want to lose control, it is the creator of duality consciousness, win/lose, good/bad, high/low and continues for lifetimes on linear consensus reality which is the way of the world, not the flow of Spirit Consciousness, two different dimensions and yet one Real Source.

As we practice our art of Aikido, we are allowing our inner actions to guide us from the spontaneity that comes from within our Consciousness/Awareness to show us the way of effortless effort or flowing with the energy “as it is” and not trying to make something happen.

If the Unification Principle is allowed to we will say,  perform the action, then all of our conflicted and resistance energies are transcended and as we continue our study from the Unification of all Principles then one can slowly grow beyond their resistance to live from the Unification Principle and be able to Understand what it is they are constantly doing in their Unconscious existence.  To become aware of your contracted state starts to allow you to release yourself consciously from your “habituated familiarity” of your life.

We practice a FORM  through Principle to bring us into a state of FORMLESSNESS.  So we are able to awaken to THE FORMLESS through transcending a FORM or a concept of practice by seeing that the FORM is limited in structure but through Principle it is Transcendental AND FORMLESS, because Principles are FORMLESS and they can only be expressed through the FORM,  they allow extraordinary displays of energy and awareness because they are not limited to any specific FORM.

To be able to we will say ‘GO WITH THE FLOW” we have to have transcended our normal approach to dealing with energy coming at us no matter what the FORM seems to be, physical, emotional or mental.  We must stay OPEN ENDED  through the Unification Principle or we will allow the world of FORM to determine our lives and we will remain its prisoner.  The more we are able to allow effortless openendedness to arise as our Nature, the more we are our Source energy, our Original Face, with no attachment to any FORM and yet not resisting the reality of FORMS on all levels.

Thank you, Will Gable

THROUGH A RAPIST EYES

This was an excellent article by a journalist in Hyderabad, all credit is given to Andhra Pradesh,  who interviewed prisoners who were rapists and date rapists who answered specific questions about their strategies to set up potential victims.  I thought it would be helpful to all concerned.

March 6, 2013

“THROUGH A RAPIST’S EYES” (Repost)(PLS TAKE TIME TO READ THIS. it may save a life.) Click Share Button To share it on your Wall.

It seems that a lot of attackers use some tactic to get away with violence. Not many people know how to take care of themselves when faced with such a situation. Everyone should read this especially each n every girl in this world.

THOUGHT THIS WAS GOOD INFO TO PASS ALONG…

FYI – Through a rapist’s eyes! A group of rapists and date rapists in prison were interviewed on what they look for in a potential victim and here are some interesting facts:

1] The first thing men look for in a potential victim is hairstyle. They are most likely to go after a woman with a ponytail, bun!, braid or other hairstyle that can easily be grabbed. They are also likely to go after a woman with long hair. Women with short hair are not common targets.

2] The second thing men look for is clothing. They will look for women who’s clothing is easy to remove quickly. Many of them carry scissors around to cut clothing.

3] They also look for women using their cell phone, searching through their purse or doing other activities:  Those that are least paying attention to the surrounding while walking would become the most likely victim because they are off guard and can be easily overpowered.

4] The number one place women are abducted from / attacked at is grocery store parking lots.

5] Number two is office parking lots/garages.

6] Number three is public restrooms.

7] Removing the victim from the Primary Location: The thing about these men is that they are looking to grab a woman and quickly move her to a second l ocation where they don’t have to worry about getting caught.

8] Put up a Fight or Resistance:  If you put up any kind of a fight at all, they get discouraged because it only takes a minute or two for them to realize that going after you isn’t worth it because it will be time-consuming.

9] Those carrying “weapons” would be the least likely to be a victim:  These men said they would not pick on women who have umbrellas, or other similar objects that can be used from a distance, in their hands.

10] A key in your hand is better than none:  Keys are not a deterrent because you have to get really close to the attacker to use them as a weapon. So, the idea is to convince these guys you’re not worth it.

POINTS THAT WE SHOULD REMEMBER:

1] If someone is following behind you on a street or in a garage go with you in an elevator or stairwell, look them in the face and ask them a question, like what time is it, or make general small talk: can’t believe it is so cold out here, we’re in for a bad winter. Now that you’ve seen their faces and could identify them in a line- up, you lose appeal as a target.

2] If someone is coming toward you, hold out your hands in front of you and yell Stop or Stay back! Most of the rapists this man talked to said they’d leave a woman alone if she yelled or showed that she would not be afraid to fight back.Again, they are looking for an EASY target.

3] If you carry pepper spray (this instructor was a huge advocate of it and carries it with him wherever he goes,) yelling I HAVE PEPPER SPRAY and holding it out will be a deterrent.

4] If someone grabs you, you can’t beat them with strength but you can do it by outsmarting them.  If youare grabbed around the waist from behind, pinch the attacker either under the arm between the elbow and armpit or in the upper inner thigh – HARD. One woman in a class this guy taught told him she used

the underarm pinch on a guy who was trying to date rape her and was so upset she broke through the skin and tore out muscle strands the guy needed stitches. Try pinching yourself in those places as hard as you can stand it; it really hurts.

5] After the initial hit, always go for the groin. I know from a particularly unfortunate experience that if you slap a guy’s parts itis extremely painful. You might think that you’ll anger the guy and make him want to hurt you more, but the thing these rapists told our instructor is that they want a woman who will not cause him a lot of trouble. Start causing trouble, and he’s out of there.

6] When the guy puts his hands up to you, grab his first two fingers and bend them back as far as possible with as much pressure pushing down on them as possible. The instructor did it to me without using much pressure, and I ended up on my knees and both knuckles cracked audibly.

7] Of course the things we always hear still apply. Always be aware of your surroundings, take someone with you if you can and if you see any odd behavior, don’t dismiss it, go with your instincts. You may feel little silly at the time, but you’d feel much worse if the guy really was trouble.

FINALLY, PLEASE REMEMBER THESE AS WELL ….

I know you are smart enough to know these pointers but there will be some, where you will go “hmm I must remember that” After reading, forward it to someone you care about, never hurts to be careful in this crazy world we live in.

1. Tip from Tae Kwon Do:The elbow is the strongest point on your body. If you are close enough to use it, do it.

2. Learned this from a tourist guide to New Orleans :  if a robber asks for your wallet and/or purse, DO NOT HAND IT TO HIM. Toss it away from you…. chances are that he is more interested in your wallet and/or purse than you and he will go for the wallet/purse. RUN LIKE MAD IN THE OTHER DIRECTION!

3. If you are ever get thrown into the trunk of a car:  Kick out the back tail lights and stick your arm out the hole and start waving like crazy.  The driver won’t see you but everybody else will. This has saved lives.

4. Stay Alert & Move into your car or vehicle immediately.  Women have a tendency to get into their cars after shopping, eating, working, etc., and just sit (doing their checkbook, or making a list, etc. DON’T DO THIS! The predator will be watching you, and this is the perfect opportunity for him to get in on the passenger side, put a gun to your head, and tell you where to go. AS SOON AS YOU CLOSE the DOORS , LEAVE.

5. A few notes about getting into your car in a parking lot, or parking garage:

a. Be aware: look around your car as someone may be hiding at the passenger side , peek into your car, inside the passenger side floor, and in the back seat. (DO THIS TOO BEFORE RIDING A TAXI CAB) .

b. If you! u are parked next to a big van, enter your car from the passenger door. Most serial killers attack their victims by pulling them into their vans while the women are attempting to get into their cars.

c. Look at the car parked on the driver’s side of your vehicle, and the passenger side. If a male is sitting alone in the seat nearest your car, you may want to walk back into the mall, or work, and get a guard/policeman to walk you back out. IT IS ALWAYS BETTER TO BE SAFE THAN SORRY. (And better paranoid than dead.)

6. ALWAYS take the elevator instead of the stairs.

Stairwells are horrible places to be alone and the perfect crime spot

7. If the assailant is armed with weapon:  If the predator has a gun and you are not under his control, ALWAYS RUN!  The predator will only hit you (a running target) 4 in 100 times;  And even then, it most likely WILL NOT be a vital organ.

RUN!

8. As women, we are always trying to be sympathetic:   STOP IT!   It may get you raped, or killed. Ted Bundy, the serial killer, was a good-looking, well educated man, who ALWAYS played on the sympathies of unsuspecting women. He walked with a cane, or a limp, and often asked “for help” into his vehicle or with his vehicle, which is when he abducted his next victim.

I’d like you to forward this to all the women you know. It may save a life. A candle is not dimmed by lighting another candle.

To follow up with a few additions from our practice of Aikido,  Ju jitsu and Judo, if we are attacked we move off the line of the attack first, keep our hands in front of our center line, if pulled in close we are attacking their balance by movement and attacking their eyes, throat, groin, shin, and stomping the ankle arches.

One of the main Principles we teach is Awareness of self and environment, our country is falling into social, economic decline so it is best to follow all of the suggestions presented in this excellent journalistic article.
